The Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC) was established in 1990 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs together with the Ministry of Transportation and Communication, the Environmental Protection Administration and representatives of the enterprises based on the Automotive Industry Development Policy, which was approved by the Executive Yuan on March 15, 1985.

The ARTC objectives are to develop the related technology, to improve the product quality, to provide the internationally recognized testing and certification services, as well as to assist the government in stipulating and managing regulations and standards.

Transportation

Set out from the Grand Hotel to the important historical town in central Taiwan, Lukang.

10:40-12:00

Lukang

Lukang is the town for well-preserved historical sites, old houses, old temples and fork arts. Take a walk in Lukang old streets and visit Longshan Temple which has the reputation of being the Treasure of Chinese Architectural Art.

Proving Ground

To drive around the test hills and appreciate the sheer scale of ARTC’s 119 hectare proving ground.

Taiwan Glass Gallery

Inside the gallery there are various kinds of glass artwork, glassware and even industrial glass. While strolling around the exhibit, visitors will get to experience a whole new image of traditional glass industry and visit the unique glass temple in Taiwan.

Transportation

Depart from ARTC and return to The Grand Hotel.

*Each one of the participants for this event is required to buy a Technical Tour Ticket (NT$1,500/person). The tickets are available on the Pre-Registration System on a first-come-first-served basis. *Please remember to bring identification in order to board the bus. *Technical Tour needs at least 15 persons to be established and can hold up to 40 persons. *APEMC 2015 reserves the right to change the itineraries.
